It would be ludicrous to ignore what is happening around us; there is enormous chaos at every level and our souls yearn for some order. One of the practical aspects of astrology is that it can explain the forces acting behind the chaos. As I’ve done for the past few articles, I will try to explain why our evolutionary process is especially chaotic of late. I cannot lie, the changes needed are so profound as to resemble a metamorphosis that won’t be completed before April 25, 2026, when Uranus exits Taurus for good, although the transformation will take a few more years. The last article was titled In The Chrysalis to signify the beginning of the metamorphosis.
Big Picture
If we go back to the preview articles for 2024 and 2025, we see a common thread: the Minor Grand Trine configuration formed by the transpersonal planets: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. In such a configuration three planets are located at the vertices of an isosceles triangle having a trine (120°) as base and two sextiles (60°) as equal-length sides. The sextiles are highly energetic aspects that fuel productivity while the trine fosters creativity. As a result, this configuration often gives rise to events under the direction of the planet with the two sextiles, the leader. Also, forming an aspect to the leader planet is met with the energy of the entire configuration which, in this case, is the energy of the generational processes. Generally speaking, when the outer planets get together, archetypal information arises from the collective unconscious and affects the consciousness of humanity as a whole. While some effects will be gross, those times bring opportunities to accept and assimilate subtle changes of consciousness as well.
In the aforementioned articles, we discussed how a similar configuration occurred during WWII, when humanity realized it had the power to destroy our civilization. Like now, the initial configuration had the planets in Yin signs (Uranus in Taurus, Neptune in Virgo and Pluto in Cancer) prior to entering the following Yang signs during the war. Nowadays, Uranus is once again in Taurus fueling a similar rise of fascism as it did in the 1930s, but Neptune and Pluto only traveled half the zodiac and, as a result, the leadership shifted from Pluto to Neptune. Back then, Pluto moved from Cancer to Leo and led a violent transformation at many levels; currently, Neptune is moving from Pisces to Aries, fully next January 26, to usher the dissolution of victimhood, a shadow Piscean aspect. Although the Minor Grand Trine will be with us until the late 2020s, the years 2026 and 2027 will be particularly important since Neptune will have Saturn as co-leader of the configuration, giving the required changes a social structure.
The Implosion of Capitalism
Pluto is the planetary process of enormous power to effect transformations while Neptune’s process is one of powerful dissolution as if by acid. That is why World War II ended with nuclear explosions, and why I expect mostly massive implosions of obsolete institutions this time around. However, then and now, Pluto first empowered those who maintained and lived off the old order that must be replaced. Just as the Roman Empire didn’t fall until Rome itself fell, similarly, the ultra-liberal capitalism that created the imbalance we see in the world won’t fail until it fails in the United States. At this point, let’s look at the chart of President Trump, who is likely to be the avatar of the forces behind the implosion.

Trump was born four hours before the exact full moon and lunar eclipse of June 14, 1946. As you can see, the opposition of Sun and Moon represents the axis of his personality. His Sun forms not only a tight conjunction with the North Node, making it a total lunar eclipse, but also with Uranus. You may remember that we had a stellium of planets lately transiting through the final degrees of Pisces, particularly Neptune, all forming squares with that triple conjunction in Gemini at the top of his chart. Due to Trump’s poor mental health, such transits are having disastrous consequences. In particular, the squares with Neptune brought subconscious issues (and paranoia) that Saturn is currently trying to structure, or to avoid building walls, as the case may be. The return to Pisces of both Neptune and Saturn will reignite the fears and paranoia later this year. All of this makes him a suitable conduit for what the Minor Grand Trine wants to achieve in the short to medium term.
As mentioned earlier, Uranus in Taurus fuels ideologies related to the protection and assimilation of land, including fascism. The planet is currently transiting through the final degrees of the sign, which coincide with the initial degrees of the tenth house in Trump’s chart: his public persona. Taurus also represents possessions and accumulated wealth in a stable form, like gold or US Treasury bonds. However, a good adjective for Uranus is “erratic” which could lately be used to describe both Trump’s public persona and the performance of those bonds. Uranus is also the planet of rebellions and we can begin to see anger towards wealth as it prepares to exit Taurus. Recall that we often experience entrance and exit events when the slow planets change signs and Uranus will exit Taurus and enter Gemini for the first time in 84 years on July 7.
Aries and Taurus
When viewed as phases of a process, which will always be helical, the signs are symbols in Time, not Space. Time is what drives the processes forward so they become manifested in Space as events.1 Every full moon, we speak of a sign polarity: two signs opposite to each other in Space; for example, Aries and Libra, Taurus and Scorpio, etc., those signs are always found 180° apart in an astrological chart. Thus, we have six sign polarities in Space and we similarly have six operating couplings in Time, formed by pairing what astrology calls a masculine sign with the following feminine sign: Aries and Taurus, Gemini and Cancer, etc. The “masculine” or Yang sign acts as the root symbol of the coupling while the “feminine” or Yin sign is its confirmation symbol.
In the evolutionary process represented by the lunation cycle, the lunar month with a new moon in Aries is typically followed by a new moon in Taurus. Together, both lunations symbolize the first operating coupling of the year. Aries is the impulse to begin anew that Taurus confirms, which literally means to give firmness, by producing something tangible from that impulse. The past month has seen many initiatives put forward which will have to be confirmed, so the new moon in Taurus is equipped with a veritable arsenal, especially by occurring fewer than 24 hours after the exact opposition of Mars and Pluto, as we will see shortly.
New Moon in Taurus
The new moon will occur on April 27, 2025 at 12:31 p.m. in California, 1:31 p.m. in Mexico City, or 9:31 p.m. in Central Europe. The conjunction of Sun and Moon will occur at Taurus 7°47′, as shown in the chart below.

April 27, 2025 at 19:30:58 (GMT)
As mentioned, the opposition between Pluto (Aquarius 3°48′) and Mars (Leo 4°09′) was exact hours earlier. Both Mars and Pluto form squares with the new-moon conjunction of Sun and Moon, resulting in a T-square configuration. Mars also forms a trine with Neptune (Aries 0°59′), itself forming a sextile with Pluto and thus completing a Mystic Triangle. Note that Jupiter (Gemini 20°44′) also forms aspects of consciousness with Mars (semi-square) and Pluto (sesquiquadrate), plus a sextile with Chiron (Aries 23°53′).
I will say more about these configurations shortly but, as if they were not enough, we find Uranus at Taurus 26°08′, the same degree where we find the star Algol. This is the third time Uranus is conjunct Algol, the malefic star in the constellation of Perseus who is sometimes depicted holding Medusa’s head after beheading her. In traditional astrology, Algol is thought of bringing sudden death by decapitation. The first time Uranus was conjunct Algol, also moving direct, Trump suffered an assassination attempt where a bullet nearly hit him in the head.
Moving to the personal planets, Mars will also form an out-of-sign trine with Venus (Pisces 28°29′), giving us an opportunity to align our needs and our desires. Venus, Saturn (Pisces 27°31′) and the North Node (Pisces 26°48′) form a three-way conjunction that could bring opportunities to stabilize our relationships. The charts of many marriages have Saturn and Venus in a “hard” aspect (conjunction, square or opposition) and the North Node of “life experiences” will ensure plenty of opportunities for such stabilization. Given that it happens in Pisces with Neptune nearby, the month will be perfect for forming and structuring spiritual relationships, perhaps via mystical rituals or initiations. The other personal planet, Mercury (Aries 11°22′), forms a semi-sextile with the new-moon conjunction perhaps adding what José Millán called “heroic voices” to the lunar month, likely in the form of protests.
The T-Square
The strongest configuration by far is the T-square of Sun and Moon with the Mars and Pluto opposition. In a T-square, the planet with the squares (Sun and Moon!) energizes the opposition, metaphorically rattling the cage until we acquire consciousness of the polarity. Recall that squares have the keyword “construction” and energize either building or destroying. Ideally, we understand the polarity constructively and the opposites collaborate harmoniously, but often understanding is achieved destructively through a struggle which, with Mars and Pluto, could easily turn into a violent power struggle or an all-out war. This is the third opposition of Mars and Pluto and the first two were linked to important events regarding Trump. The first one was on November 3, 2024, two days before he was elected, and the second was on January 3, the day Congress began with a Republican majority. Even though Trump was not president until January 20, Congress was able to grease his agenda. Mars was moving retrograde in the second opposition and entered Cancer three days later, on January 6, when Trump’s election was certified.
Mars in Cancer tends to defend rather than attack, and it will especially defend the home, or the homeland, against real or perceived enemies. It remained in Cancer until April 18, just last week. At first, it was moving retrograde and we must understand that Mars is definitely not happy when moving retrograde, for it is a planet of action, not reflection. And it is very uncomfortable in Cancer, a highly emotional sign, so Mars has been like a spring being compressed for the last three months, ready to burst out when entering Leo and immediately forming an opposition to Pluto. By having the T-square in the new-moon chart, the opposition will be felt throughout the entire lunar month, especially in the waxing phases. I just hope that everything happens with a minimum of violence.
Sabian Symbol
The Sabian symbol for Taurus 8, from which Sun and Moon are rattling the cage of the Mars–Pluto opposition, has the image: “A sleigh without snow” which can be interpreted as preparing for what will eventually come, or as the power of imagination and positive thinking. On a practical level, this degree refers to serendipity or the fortuitous convergence of events. “At its highest, this symbol represents creativity and a magical ability to make wishes come true or a knack for being at the right time and place when things come together in harmony”, writes Diana Roche in her book The Sabian Symbols. Rudhyar gives it the key phrase: Future-Oriented Imagination.
The image of a sleigh on land, without snow, suggests insurmountable obstacles and difficulties to those who accept limitation, yet this symbol alludes to magic and the power of imagination, as mentioned earlier. We must recognize that nature is generous with its resources and there are many alternatives to achieve a goal; snow will be here eventually. Its negative aspects include wishful thinking and living in a world of fantasy, or a fatalistic acceptance of disappointments as one’s lot in life. The choice is ours, energy for either will be made available by Moon throughout the lunation but more strongly in the waxing phases.
The Mystic Triangle and Jupiter
Whereas the T-square brings the constructive or destructive energy of the square to the conundrum of the opposition, the Mystic Triangle brings the creative energy of the trine and the productive energy of the sextile to the same conundrum. So, rather than rattling the cage, the third planet in a Mystic Triangle (Neptune) offers mediation where a productive dialog can be established from creative ideas of how the poles can complement each other; even though we are talking about Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius. Neptune in Aries is no longer interested in a pie in the sky, as it might have been in Pisces, but in practical solutions. The aspects formed by Jupiter with Mars and Pluto are toned down versions of an opposition so Jupiter will just amplify whichever approach to resolving the polarity is chosen.
Mundane Astrology Trends
As mentioned earlier, the lunar cycle that begins in Taurus tries to confirm what was initiated during the Aries lunation, which practically coincided with the month of April. The world media was awash with news related to the economic decisions of President Trump, and which may have initiated the aforementioned implosion. Without adding another chart, let me mention a few of the new-moon transits on Trump’s horoscope.
First of all, Mars will be making a wide conjunction with his Pluto, so the Mars–Pluto opposition will be a Pluto–Pluto opposition in his chart. This also means that Sun and Moon will form squares to his Pluto in the twelfth house of his subconscious. The “rattling of the cage” will happen inside his head and bring fears, abuse of power and paranoia, all further activated by Mars transiting in the same house. His own opposition between Moon and the stellium of Sun, Uranus, and the North Node will be activated by a conjunction of Jupiter with that stellium, enhancing whatever drama will occur inside his head. Finally, Uranus will form a square with his natal Mars, an incredibly strong aspect under which passions and anger surface under normal circumstances. Moreover, Mars is also in the twelfth house, three degrees before his Ascendant, and remember that Uranus will form the square from its conjunction with Algol. The outlook is for an even less stable Trump.
In other world trends, Canada’s elections will be held the day after the new moon, which is two after the exact opposition of Mars and Pluto, for a poignant reminder of what happened last November in the United States. The wars in Ukraine and Gaza happen in the longitudinal band of Taurus so the new moon conjunction and Uranus will be causing trouble there. I’m afraid I don’t see a meaningful end to either war before the opposition of Mars and Neptune on August 9, as I outlined in the preview for 2025.
Test of Wills
The article in which we talked about the first Mars–Pluto opposition was titled Test of Wills, making the point that Mars represents our individual will to satisfy our desires, while Pluto symbolizes what could be called the Cosmic (or Divine) Will for humanity. As we saw earlier, the transpersonal energies will be led by Neptune for the next five years, initially with the help of Saturn, to bring about changes in our collective consciousness. However, Pluto still represents the overall direction of growth for humanity at its current evolutionary stage, the opposition thus encourages us to align our will with humanity’s destiny. From that standpoint, Sun and Moon will rattle our cage and Neptune will offer practical but compassionate ideas on how to accomplish such an important alignment.
Wrapping Up…
The external chaos will gain momentum, appearing unbeatable at times, but the transpersonal planets are barely starting to move to the Yang signs on which they will form the powerful Minor Grand Trine configuration. This is a marathon, not a sprint race.
In the next article, I will talk about the Saturn entrance in Aries and the immediate conjunction it will make with Neptune. There are implications in both mundane and personal astrology.
On a personal note, energies to consolidate what we may have started in April will be present through most of May. The strong conjunction of Saturn and Venus, coupled with the trine of Venus to Mars, indicate a good time to stabilize and perhaps formalize our relationships.
Venus will enter Aries on April 30 and form an immediate conjunction with Neptune, its higher octave. The initial days of May will be ideal to spiritually refocus our relationships since the conjunction will be exact on May 2.
Please remember to declare your intention prior to the new moon, preferably using the present tense.
Always Love. 🌹🙏💖
- Recall that what physics calls “time” is just a necessary tool to study motion in space. It is deemed the fourth dimension of “space-time”, a mathematical entity in the theory of General Relativity. Such “time”, which Rudhyar called “dimensional time”, is a linear quantity derived from a cyclical process, such as Earth’s rotation or the radiation of a cesium isotope, both used to define a second, the unit of dimensional time. As a tool, such a time is extremely useful and allows society to function, but one must be careful never to confuse it with Time as a metaphysical concept in a philosophy of existence. ↩︎
