In the Chrysalis

The first full moon of the astrological year will find humanity in a state of disarray. The astrologer José Millán likened the entrance of Neptune in Aries to surgery without anesthesia. Mercury and Venus, going back and forth between the signs of Pisces and Aries while forming conjunctions with Neptune, the North Node and Saturn, have introduced chaos in our mental processes and in our relationships with others. Venus became the morning star after a period of transformation reflected in our values system and relationships. With its lunation in Aries, April promises to be a fast-moving and still-chaotic month for those failing to embrace change. The old paradigms are experiencing a loud implosion but there are pockets of hope all over the world, people conscious that the world of tomorrow is being co-created today, and are working to make it one based on truth, compassion and, above all, love for one another and the planet.

Neptune in Aries

The transition from Pisces to Aries, we have seen, is like traveling through the birth canal. Pisces is the sign that ends a cycle and Aries starts another one in any planetary process. Sun starts anew every vernal equinox but other cycles, like those symbolized by the slower outer planets, begin much more rarely. And yet, we have seen Uranus begin a new cycle on March 12, 2011, after a brief stint in Aries in 2010. It is now Neptune’s turn to sample Aries for a few months before moving fully into it next January. Some of you will be alive in 2068, when Pluto will enter Aries—entrance which I believe will mark the true start of the Age of Aquarius. These represent important beginnings for humanity as a whole.

Neptune in Pisces was wishy-washy, there were many options in fashion, drugs (pharmaceutical or recreational), spiritual paths and techniques, and so on. In Aries, no planet can continue lollygagging, the time to act has arrived; still with Neptunian ideals but with aggressive, perhaps violent, action. In the US Civil War, slavery is mentioned as one of the reasons why it happened since it became impossible to ignore, just as migration is nowadays an issue we must address. Like the Roman god, Neptune rules the seas, and wars are often fought when it transits Aries, as we saw in the previous article. Given that a global economic war has apparently begun, we should assume massive disruptions in commercial shipping.

End to Victimhood?

Personally, Neptune in Aries invites us to fight for our spiritual lives as it impulses us to take positive actions regarding our own spirituality. Also, for the next fifteen months, the North Node in Pisces will provide us with life opportunities and synchronicities to follow our spiritual path. That said, there is a fork on the road: we can either choose to be a victim, look for whoever wronged us and declare a “holy war” against them, or find in ourselves the seeds of a new paradise—both are plausible archetypes of Neptune in Aries. Neptune represents the largest collectivities and Aries is the sign that asserts the individuality so, in the best case, Neptune in Aries will represent interdependent individualities within a collective. Victimhood is a powerful feeling that enacts binding emotions among the victims. It should be obvious that proponents of the old-paradigms have been using tactics rooted on victimhood, creating emotional communities, like MAGA in the US,

First Quarter Phase

At the time of the First Quarter, we had a very tight stellium in Pisces, with Saturn (24°59′), Venus (25°54′), Mercury (27°05′) and the North Node (27°17′) found in just over two degrees; Neptune was an out-of-sign participant, at Aries 0°12′. Mercury was stationary a day later and began to move “direct” (in the forward direction) on April 7. Venus will take a little longer but it will be stationary at the full moon, as we will see shortly. Without planets moving retrograde, the energies will be focused on action rather than reflection and this will last until May 7, when Pluto begins five months of retrograde motion. Unfortunately, this will feed the external chaos as various entities will be more prone to act without thinking. Note how the stellium formed sextiles with Uranus (Taurus 24°57′) and trines with Mars (Cancer 24°59′), both exact for Saturn. I will say a few words about these aspects when we analyze the full moon, for they will still be in orb.

Venus Changes Direction

As mentioned earlier, Venus will begin to move direct on April 15, after the full moon. Therefore, these are the final days of Venus retrograde, when we reconsider and reflect on our relationships, perhaps reinventing those in which we currently find ourselves or remembering, and even retaking, some old ones. You may have felt a strong desire to do a thorough revision of your relatedness during the second conjunction of Saturn and Venus in Pisces on April 7, a conjunction that encourages us to take as much time as needed, allowing for dialog and reflection. The first conjunction happened back on January 19 and the third will occur on April 24, after the upcoming full moon, both of them with Venus moving direct. Saturn and Venus in Pisces may give our relationships a structure based on the highest ideals of love and compassion which will be put to use when Venus enters Aries at the end of the month.

Full Moon in Libra

The full moon in Libra will occur on April 12 at 5:22 p.m. in California, 6:22 p.m. in Mexico City, or on April 13 at 2:22 a.m. in Central Europe. The opposition will find Sun at Aries 23°20′ and Moon at Libra 23°20′.

The full moon begins to tell its story with the opposition of Sun and Moon in the Aries–Libra axis, the confrontation between two impulses: to be an individual person and to relate with other individuals. Sun in Aries begins to integrate our individuality emerging from the previous cycle. Moon in Libra reminds us to do things right for, in six months time, we will begin to relate to others as equals. Notice that Venus is stationary (Pisces 24°38′), ending the period of reflection and beginning one of action. Going back to the opposition (shown in blue), we find Chiron (Aries 23°01′) in the same degree of Sun and thus acting in unison—a “healing light” emanating from Sun in Aries will be reflected by Moon in Libra. Also, the opposition forms a Mystic Triangle with Jupiter at Gemini 17°58′, enabling an expansive and visionary mind.

The Piscean Energies Continue

Lo and behold, the stellium in Pisces shown in the First Quarter chart is just a bit wider but we still find within 4°: Venus (24°38′), Saturn (25°54′), the North Node (27°20′) and Mercury (28°09′), with Neptune (Aries 0°30′) being sufficiently nearby, and the ruler of Pisces, to be included out of sign. The stellium forms sextiles with Pluto (Aquarius 3°42′) and Uranus (Taurus 25°20′), more about this shortly, and trines with Mars (Cancer 27°56′). Mars, meanwhile, forms a T-square with Sun (and Chiron) and Moon. Mars in Cancer, we have said, will defend the home (or homeland) and the squares will build something with Sun in Aries, which Mars rules, and with Moon. Since Mars also forms an out-of-sign opposition with Pluto, what will be built—and displayed, for this is a full moon—may be in alignment with the Cosmic Will or the result of a power struggle.

Powerful Finger of Fate (Yod)

Looking at the full-moon chart, we can see that Moon forms quincunxes with the Pisces stellium and with Uranus, shown as dotted green lines. The sextiles between the stellium and Uranus, shown in dark purple, complete a skinny isosceles triangle with Moon at the “point”; such a configuration is a Yod. The Yod is also called a Finger of Fate focused on the planet with the quincunxes, Moon in this case. Suddenly, Moon will be involved not only in the traditional role of displaying what matured from the new-moon seed but also showing what Sun (and Chiron) will build (or destroy) with Mars under the influence of Pluto. Moon’s transits are fleeting but often act as triggers for other, deeper, aspects. Since the North Node is included in the stellium, we could expect important news—perhaps about the formation of an alliance, or something related to aviation.

Sabian Symbols

The symbol for Aries 24 (Sun) has the image: “An open window and a net curtain blowing into a cornucopia”, reformulated by Rudhyar as: “Blowing inward by the wind, the curtains of an open window take the shape of a cornucopia”, and expanded as openness to the influx of spiritual energies. The image of the Libra 24 (Moon) symbol is: “A third wing on the left side of a butterfly”, expanded as the ability to develop, for inner strengthening, new modes of response to basic life situations.

The open window of Sun’s image represents the openness of our mind as the wind brings the generosity of Spirit, a cornucopia of gifts. On the other hand, in Moon’s image we have the traditional symbol of spiritual rebirth, the butterfly, with a third wing added on the left side. The left side is both instinctual and the side of the heart, and it can refer to “heart intuitions”. The number three is the number of completion, so adding those intuitions may be needed to complete our spiritual rebirth.

Mars in Leo

A few days after the full moon, on April 18, Mars will re-enter Leo and it will immediately form an opposition with Pluto and a trine with Neptune. What was not assimilated in Cancer will be expressed aggressively when it moves to Leo. Prior to that entrance, we will have to deal with issues of family, nation, etc. (Cancer). However, once in Leo, Mars will express our individual will. The opposition with Pluto will provide an opportunity to align ourselves with humanity’s Destiny which, as we well know, includes raising our individual consciousness to a higher and subtler level. The trine with Neptune may provide the necessary inspiration to accept the new level with love and compassion. The opposition with Pluto will be exact on April 27, just a few hours prior to the new moon in Taurus and a day before the Canadian elections. I will say more in the next article.

Wrapping Up…

The transpersonal planets continue to move inexorably to form a tight Minor Grand Trine in the Yang signs, that is, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius. We are currently living the transition and it came with a lot of uncertainty.

The time to reflect on our relationships pretty much ends with the full moon since Venus will change direction afterwards, on April 18. Venus direct will impulse us to act on what we decided while Venus was moving retrograde.

Once again, try not to dwell on what the news reports; these continue to be turbulent times. Focus on opening both your mind and your heart to new energies and a heightened awareness of our role in humanity.

Enjoy the full moon this weekend, it should be spectacular on Saturday.

Always Love. 🌹🙏💖
