This article is about the new moon we will have this Thursday, June 6 at 5:37 a.m. in California, 6:37 a.m. in Mexico City, or 2:35 p.m. in Santander. The new moon will occur at Gemini 16°18′, forming a same-degree conjunction with Venus at 16°48′, as you can see on the enclosed chart. I refer you to the Gemini page for a thorough discussion of the sign that will be strongly represented at the new moon. I begin writing this brief article on June 3, the day when Mercury entered the sign to join Sun, Venus and Jupiter. Note that every planet entering Gemini immediately forms a trine with Pluto at Aquarius.
Jupiter in Gemini
Of particular interest is Jupiter, which entered Gemini on May 25, a sign where it isn’t that comfortable. Jupiter is the process of expansion and Gemini is the phase of extracting information from localized, practical and concrete relationships. The Jupiter process works much better forming the opposite kind of relationships, those that link far-away ideas and concepts to extract knowledge and produce a vision. This is why it is said to “rule” Sagittarius, the sign opposite Gemini. Jupiter in Gemini is in a particular phase of its cycle when its process cannot depend on high-level knowledge. It is a phase when knowledge (and visions) have to come from the information it is able to classify, the mundane and not the philosophical. However, as usual we have an opportunity, there is energy to expand the classification of information for which Gemini is uniquely suited.
The immediate trine with Pluto will help us visualize what the years of Pluto in Aquarius will mean. Recall that it recently formed a conjunction with Uranus, Aquarius ruler, and Gemini is the sign of communication. Both Jupiter and Uranus are processes that seek truth, but in the case of Jupiter it refers to rational truth, rooted in logic, unlike the universal truth that Uranus is after. A key feature is that Jupiter is currently moving very fast, at 174% of its average speed! To give you an idea, by October 10, when it starts to move retrograde, it will have reached Gemini 21⁰20′ even though it will remain in Gemini until June 9, 2025. Jupiter’s orbit is 11.86 years long so it spends about a year in each sign, the last time it entered Gemini was on June 11, 2012. Go back to that time in your mind and see if something specific happened to you, perhaps related to the practical value of information, If you know where Gemini 0° falls in your chart, the field of experiences denoted by the house position will be affected again in all likelihood.
As in any sign, Jupiter could also expand the dark side of the phase. For instance, a problem may surface with Gemini when the information captured from observations doesn’t agree with the mental picture of the world, because we must modify one or other other. If instead of changing the mental abstractions of what is being experienced, we insist on having the experiences conform to our internal reality, we are living in a world of “alternative facts” and Jupiter will be happy to expand that situation.
When the new moon occurs, Jupiter will be at Gemini 2°42′ and, besides the aforementioned trine with Pluto at Aquarius 1°50′, it will form a conjunction with Mercury at Gemini 6°29′, which was exact on June 4 (Gemini 2°13′), when I am writing these words. Significantly, there is ample evidence of a massive election fraud in last Sunday’s elections, and today the leading opposition candidate, Xóchitl Gálvez, formally challenged the results with over 2,000 pages of legal arguments and evidence of how the fraud was committed. In the epilogue of the article I wrote about the elections, I pointed out the enormous influence of Neptune, saying that it could signify an administration based on inclusiveness and compassion. What I failed to notice was that Neptune is also the planet of deception, even as I pointed that out through the article (sigh).1 Regardless, there will be energy through the entire lunar month for extracting and communicating information in a big way, like writing or giving speeches. It is also likely that we will have tons of news, even conflicting ones like the one I just mentioned, during the lunar month.
Pluto
Since the Mercury–Jupiter conjunction will be empowered by the Pluto trine, the communications just mentioned may have a particularly deep tone. Pluto also forms an out-of-sign square with Mars at Aries 28°01′, just before it leaves its sign to enter Taurus on June 8, two days after the new moon. This means that the entire lunation, but mostly the waxing phases, may continue to experience violent power struggles around the planet, unfortunately.
Pluto is moving retrograde towards Capricorn to remain in its anaretic degree between September 1 and November 19. Meanwhile Uranus, is speeding in Taurus, currently at 164% of its average speed, from 24°29′ at the new moon to 27°15′ on September 1 when they will thus form a trine from the two earth signs—of course, they will be in an out-of-sign trine before then. Given that Neptune will be in the final degree of Pisces, the Minor Gran Trine configuration of the transpersonal planets will be formed once more. That will be the last chance for the old paradigms to exert their power before the configuration moves to air and fire signs for a few weeks in 2025 and for a few years beginning in 2026. I will say more about this important configuration when we get closer to it because the personal planets will develop Kite configurations with the Minor Grand Trine and receive important energies for our overall evolution.
Saturn
As you can see in the new-moon chart, Saturn is at Pisces 18°59′ and forms a square with the Sun–Moon–Venus triple conjunction, which will bring a structuring but at the same time compassionate influence to the highly dynamic and mentally-based value system under which we may form new relationships in this lunation, or view our existing ones. Saturn also forms the waxing semi-square with Pluto, the Crescent phase of their relationship cycle that began on January 12, 2020 and which foretold the pandemic lockdowns, a perfect example of forced (Pluto) structures (Saturn). The Crescent phase brings awareness to the meaning of a cycle, so you may begin to realize reasons why you have certain structures in your life, even as they seem forced on you.
Unlike Jupiter or Uranus, Saturn is currently moving very slowly, at only 54.84% of its average speed and decreasing. A few hours after the new moon, it will enter Pisces 19°00′ and remain in that degree 47 days until July 22, even beginning its retrograde motion from that degree (19°25′) on July 3. On average, Saturn spends less than a month in one degree, so this is noteworthy. The Sabian symbol for Pisces 20° has the image: “A table set for an evening meal”, explained as an indication that in the end and at the appointed time the individual’s needs will be met among those to whom he is linked by a spiritual (or biological) web of energies. Its keyword is: Nourishment.
According to Dane Rudhyar, the significant aspect of this symbol is not that it is a meal but an evening meal which, in traditional symbolism, represents the time when a reincarnated soul returns to its spiritual home after a long chain of personal existences. The soul-consciousness is said to find nourishment in the harvest of whatever, during the whole life, has been relevant to the archetypal purpose and destiny of the Soul. I find it significant that Saturn, the process of giving structure to our function in society, will remain in this significant degree through two lunations (the next new moon will be on July 5) and the summer solstice.
Sun–Moon Conjunction with Venus
The square that Saturn forms with the new moon is an aspect with energy for construction, giving a concrete form to the new moon, which is something that Saturn is quite comfortable doing. Any new moon is a time of divination, when Moon brings back the wisdom of the old cycle and is fecundated by Sun for the new one. The exact conjunction with Venus places an emphasis on relationships and their value systems. The Gemini phase interacts with our daily life in the area of information, its distribution, and the mental classification required to form meaningful and practical relationships. As José Millán says, Gemini is the dotted line that links similar, and at times dissimilar, information. The symbolic twins may provide alternative viewpoints to either reach a consensus or open a wide chasm.
Since the solar eclipse, Chiron has featured prominently, helping us heal issues related to “belonging”, perhaps in close relationships, at work with our peers, or as a person possessing human rights. Furthermore, when we discussed the full moon in Scorpio, we talked about the importance of seeking our personal sovereignty within valuable relationships, once again keyed by Chiron’s prominence. The Sun–Moon–Venus triple conjunction of this new moon forms sextiles with the North Node at Aries 13°42′ and Chiron at Aries 22°29′, once more bringing to the forefront the issue of nurturing healing relationships that honor the sacred feminine, especially seeing that Venus is featured so prominently. That said, Chiron also forms a conjunction with Mars, bringing the sacred masculine to the fray.
Sabian Symbol
The Sabian symbol for the degree of the triple conjunction, Gemini 17°, is: “The head of a robust youth changes into that of a mature thinker”, explained further as the transformation of physical vitality into the power to build concepts and intellectual formulations through which knowledge can be transferred. This is a symbol of a quiet and steady transformation of biological energy into mind power and instincts into thoughts, which is why its key phrase is: Mental Metamorphosis.
Discussion
When we look at the new-moon chart, perhaps the first thing we notice is that all planets are in the left semicircle, between the winter solstice at the top, the beginning of Capricorn, and the summer solstice at the bottom, when Cancer starts. This is the semicircle in which the Day Force grows from its minimum intensity to its maximum while the Night Force shrinks accordingly. Thus, it is the semicircle of growing individuality with Gemini being its final phase. Five planets in Gemini, counting Moon, means five processes empowering us to grow as individuals.
Three of those processes are perfectly synchronized over a degree that calls for a mental metamorphosis: the all important Sun process that powers everything by giving us light, and the Moon process that distributes that light to give us life. These are the processes that develop the monthly “dance” of light and life we experience as the moon phases, and which begins every new moon with a seed of pure potentiality. In this new moon, however, another process joins them, the process of establishing relationships to satisfy our needs following our personal value system, the process represented by Venus.
A few articles ago I noted that this Sun–Venus conjunction is the superior conjunction, when Sun is between Venus and Earth or, saying it differently, when Venus is “on the side of the stars”, before it emerges as the evening star, the Queen of Heaven of the Inanna myth. We know that any planet found within 13° of Sun is invisible in its radiance to us, which happens to Venus for several weeks around its superior conjunction. Symbolically speaking, Venus, representing our valuable relatedness, goes through a transformation directed by the stars, a transformation that the Sabian symbol says is nothing less than a mental metamorphosis.
The strong sextile aspect the three planets form with Chiron, the process of identifying and healing our deepest hurt, and which currently is in the Aries phase of “not belonging”, brings a healing nature to the Venus energies and therefore to our relatedness. All this, I insist, in the context of reaching for a maximum individuality at the solstice. Jupiter nearby, in a trine with Pluto, simply enhances and empowers such change in our relationship outlook, which Mercury will bring to our daily life.
Wrapping Up…
More than anything, I want you to remember the Gift of the Spirit for the sign of Gemini: the art of letting things happen. All the changes in how we will relate or maintain our relationships in the future cannot be rushed. I have stressed that Spirit only and always responds to whoever calls It. But the response cannot be rushed, we must empty our mind of the old ways and let Spirit fill it with the new, at the time and in the manner It knows is best for us. Marc Edmund Jones defined the left semicircle of an Aries chart to be the “eastern hemisphere of destiny-making”, which is particularly true when the North Node is in such semicircle.
When Moon is in the Balsamic phase and gets within 13° of Sun and thus it is completely invisible, it is said to be an “old moon”, distilling the most wisdom from the previous lunation. This is not a conscious stage, it is a magical moment we should feel with our hearts and not with our minds. But it is a moment when we can let Moon know of our desires and our needs by setting an intention for the next cycle. Conversely, during the first 13° after the new moon, it is a most propitious time for receiving guidance and divination related to the cycle that just begins, before Moon appears as a rising crescent in the sky prior to Sun.
In the next article, we will look at the summer solstice and the full moon in Capricorn, occurring in consecutive days. Till then, blessings to all.
Always Love. 🌹🙏💖
- This article was unfortunately rushed because I spent most of Monday driving around, collecting evidence of the fraud, and later helping the Xóchitl team uncover the fraud. Other citizens used AI to nail down how it was perpetrated. ↩︎
