The next full moon will occur in the 24°01′ degree of the Taurus–Scorpio axis on November 15 at 2:28 p.m. in California, 3:28 p.m. in Mexico City, or 10:28 p.m. in Central Europe, as shown in the enclosed chart. Before getting into the astrology, I would like to say a few words related to how I see the future unfolding.
Reflecting on Free Will
Despite a popular misconception, astrology is unable to predict the future, at least not as far as events is concerned. The orbit of each planet represents a process in humanity’s consciousness, the meaning of which is determined by its position in the solar system. The planet focuses its process successively through twelve broad phases, the zodiac signs, with the significance of each degree, e.g., its Sabian symbol. Each experience of what we call life is received by the biosphere with the energies of those processes in a particular “blend” symbolized by the horoscope of the moment. Thus, we can speak of opportunities and synchronicities that will be present at some period of time, but we have to take advantage of what they offer. The US presidential elections were such an opportunity.
In the article about the full moon in Aries, we discussed the meaning of Pluto in Capricorn and how it empowers the ruling elites while exposing their tactics, and said that their top-down, patriarchal paradigms and structures will be obsolete and useless to Pluto in Aquarius, where it spent nine months this year. But it made a final eleven-week return to Capricorn, all in the anaretic degree, to show us the shadow aspect of such obsolete ideas and give us an opportunity to reject them. Alas, despite an obvious and graphic contrast between progress and regress, the old paradigms claimed victory in the US elections. Pluto will not stop and remain in Capricorn 30° forever, it will make its final exit from the sign on November 19, four days after the full moon in Taurus, and will remain nearly twenty years in Aquarius, until January 19, 2044.
Pluto in Aquarius will empower what Rudhyar called culture-wholes, communities whose integration is no longer based on regional or ancestral value systems and norms, and that wield cultural power. They may be found within a local area, like a country, or formed virtually. Over time, Saturn will erect suitable structures for such a society but the question right now is how to transfer the currently centralized powers, including the economic, to decentralized culture-wholes. Last time, in the years 1778–1798. the old paradigms were defeated through military conflicts and revolutions. However, this time the outer planets form a Minor Grand Trine driven by Neptune so, at least through 2030, a less radical approach may be attempted. That said, the astrology is clear: the old paradigms and their obsolete structures will be replaced, one way or another. We must remain focused on our growth and the upcoming full moon will likely produce deep intuitions about what is important to us.
Mars–Pluto Opposition
November and the Scorpio lunation began together and two days later, on November 3, the opposition between Mars and Pluto, what we called a test of wills, was exact for the first time, just before Mars entered Leo. The opposition between Mars (Leo 3°27′) and Pluto (Capricorn 29°56′), found near the 5–11 o’clock axis in the chart below, will become in-sign once more when Pluto enters Aquarius, four days after the full moon. Furthermore, the opposition will remain in orb through April, 2025 being exact twice again, as we discussed in prior articles.

Mercury–Chiron–Jupiter Mystic Triangle
However, another significant opposition involves Mercury at Sagittarius 16°24′ and Jupiter at Gemini 19°05′, the latter retrograde. Since Mercury rules Gemini and Jupiter rules Sagittarius, they are said to be in mutual reception.1 Thus, the rulers of the axis of communication, information and knowledge are in each other’s domicile, providing an opportunity to collaborate or to compete. Mercury in Sagittarius allows our senses and our thoughts to be attuned to “the big picture” and Jupiter in Gemini can come up with practical visions. They can work together and give birth to new philosophies or communicate mystical experiences. However, if not collaborating, they can breed intellectual arrogance with a tendency to exaggeration. Jupiter also forms an exact sextile with Chiron at Aries 19°51′. The trine of Chiron with Mercury completes a Mystic Triangle configuration that will add healing energy to the mix.
Mercury–Saturn–Jupiter T-Square
That is not the only configuration with Mercury and Jupiter. Saturn is stationary at Pisces 12°42′ and forms squares with both Mercury and Jupiter (shown in red) to form a T-Square with that opposition. Remember that a T-Square is not only highly energetic but demands attention, and a stationary planet focuses all the energy of its process in the meaning of the degree. In the last article, we saw that the Sabian symbol for Pisces 13° had the image of a sword used in many battles being displayed in a museum, which reminded us that willpower is our spiritual sword. Saturn remains in that degree from October 27 to December 4, forming various aspects such that we may use our willpower to take advantage of diverse opportunities for growth.
The square, you may recall, has the keyword construction. Mercury and Saturn will provide energy for deep and methodical thinking or endless worry and pessimism, the choice is ours, whereas Jupiter and Saturn are in their First Quarter phase from the Grand Conjunction of December 21, 2020. We called the First Quarter a crisis of action when actualizing the potentialities available at the previous conjunction. The conjunction of 2020 occurred in the first degree of Aquarius (0°29′) and it was the first of nine (about 180 years) that will occur in air signs, after a similar span of conjunctions in earth signs just ended. The crisis is precisely about such transition, essentially going from materialism to mentality.
Sun and Moon (and Uranus) Opposition
As mentioned, the Minor Grand Trine formed by the transpersonal planets keeps getting tighter so an aspect with one of them will include the energies of the other two. For example, Mars not only forms the aforementioned opposition with Pluto but also a trine with Neptune (Pisces 27°16′), albeit both out of sign. By the way, this full moon will be the last lunation phase with Uranus and Pluto in earth signs. Most importantly, the Sun–Moon opposition will be part of a Trapeze configuration with the three transpersonals, due to the conjunction of Moon and Uranus at Taurus 25°18′.
The lunation cycle is divided in two halves: the waxing phases of action, when the energies impulse the actualization of potentialities found in the new-moon chart, and the waning phases of consciousness, when we are encouraged to extract wisdom from what we did and did not actualize. Therefore, the full moon serves to show us what we achieved in the waxing phases so as to guide us in our reflections during the waning phases. Sun fecundated Moon with the new-moon seed and now shines its light on Moon at the full moon to see what grew from that seed.
Sun in Scorpio shines transformative energy by being in the sign ruled by Pluto, with whom it forms a sextile. In fact, the Sun–Moon opposition forms a Mystic Triangle with Pluto, further reinforcing the probing nature of Sun’s energy. However, Uranus also receives its opposition energy from Sun, so this full moon will be about Truth, with a capital T. Scorpio is the sign of secrets and some may be revealed. I remind you that, while a new moon may be accompanied by events, a full moon is more about realizations and, with Uranus, these may be sudden and perhaps revolutionary. However, Sun also forms a trine with Neptune who is in a sextile with Moon, so Sun and Moon also form a Mystic Triangle with Neptune. Lastly, the sextile between Neptune and Pluto completes the Trapeze.
The transpersonal planets are impregnating this full moon with energy to go deep within ourselves and reflect on the new consciousness they are heralding. They will guide us, as Heather Ensworth often says, in our personal metamorphosis.
Sabian Symbols
The symbol for Scorpio 25° (Sun) has the image: “An x-ray photograph”, expanded as the capacity to acquire a knowledge of the structural factors in all existence. The emphasis is on being able to set aside the existential knowledge of events, look beyond form and obtain deep Structural Knowledge. Meanwhile the image for Taurus 25° (Moon) is: “A vast public park”, keynoted as the cultivation of natural energies for collective use and recreation. The park is provided by the collectivity for the individual to find Collective Enjoyment, in part from the feeling of “belonging” to an organized and peaceful culture-whole.
Relationship Opportunities
Finally, Venus at Capricorn 4°55′ forms squares with the Nodal axis at 5°39′ of the Aries–Libra axis. The full-moon chart only draws in red the square between Venus (top of the chart) to the North Node but it really forms a T-Square with both nodes. The North Node in Aries is where life brings us opportunities for developing our personal sovereignty, as we have seen before, and the South Node in Libra symbolizes the lessons learned about relationships. By squaring both of them, Venus will bring opportunities to let go of old patterns in relationships and build new ones.
Wrapping Up…
The transpersonal processes have synced up to raise the level of consciousness of humanity, as symbolized by their Minor Grand Trine that has tightened considerably. As individuals, each of us must decide whether to accept the new paradigms by aligning our will (Mars) to the evolutionary Will of humanity (Pluto). This entire Scorpio lunation, ruled by Pluto, made such alignment a priority by encouraging observation and reflection. The full moon symbols urge us to look deep within ourselves, with x-ray vision, and relate to our culture-wholes with Truth as the guiding principle.
We seem to be living in a schizophrenic world. The external chaos of the old paradigms’ agony makes the evening news every day. And yet, we also see evidence of communities around the world coming up with ideas and joining forces to co-create a new civilization. In the midst of electing an administration that will look in the rear-view mirror for what it wants to achieve, many states and local communities passed progressive laws and ordinances. Even the US Congress will have its first transsexual representative. Truth and freedom are keywords of Aquarius, from where Pluto will be guiding us the next twenty years.
This full moon is another “super moon”, meaning that the moon is near its perihelion, when it is closest to Earth. Some people claim to see a particularly large and bright moon and it is true that it has a stronger effect on the tides than usual. Whatever the case, hopefully you will be able to see the full moon this Friday. Enjoy celebrating all you have achieved in the past two weeks.
Always Love. 🌹🙏💖
- They are also said to be in detriment, a quality that exposes the darker aspects of the planet archetypes. If one understands the Day and Night forces, it is simply a reversal to what the planet rules forcing it to focus on “the other” force, individuality or relatedness. ↩︎
