In this article, I initially look back and emphasize the role of mundane astrology over personal astrology because all of us are being (or will be) affected by what has been happening in the United States. Ever since all the transpersonal planets returned to their prior Yin signs, their Minor Grand Trine seems to be reloading, metaphorically speaking, before next year’s discharge. However, even in their retrograde motions, the old ways are no longer working and there is a mood of rejection to the old tricks.
Personally, the new moon in Scorpio will initiate a lunar month full of energies to reflect deeply on our relationships, in particular whether they have crystalized into patterns that no longer reflect what we desire for our future. In keeping with the pattern of the last few lunations, most of the month will develop with Sun in Sagittarius impulsing honesty and truth, in particular after the First Quarter phase when Mercury and Saturn stop moving retrograde.
On the US Presidential Elections
The United States celebrated the 249th anniversary of its independence on July 4. Since it takes about 248 years for Pluto to complete an orbit, the country experienced its first Pluto return recently. Indeed, the chart for the signing of their Declaration of Independence1 has Pluto retrograde at Capricorn 26°33′ and it returned to that location five times in 2021–22, the last of which occurred on November 20, 2022, on President Biden’s 80th birthday. On November 3, 2020, when Biden was elected, Pluto was at Capricorn 22°43′, less than 4° from its position in the US chart and thus in an active conjunction with the US radix Pluto. Pluto in Capricorn will empower existing structures, at least initially, and Biden ran in 2020 on a platform of restoring traditional values to the presidency after four hectic years of Trump in the White House. In the middle of a pandemic, Biden also represented steady leadership relying on institutions that had stood tall for over 240 years and even survived Trump’s attacks in his first term.
During Biden’s presidency, Pluto twice entered Aquarius before returning to Capricorn. In 2023, it sampled the sign for just three months, between March 23 and June 11. It went back to Aquarius on January 21, 2024 and remained in the sign until September 1 when it reentered Capricorn for the last time in its current cycle. Since it changed direction on October 12, the 2024 presidential elections were held with Pluto moving direct towards its final entrance in Aquarius on November 19 which, oddly enough, was Biden’s 82nd astrological birthday (his solar return). It is noteworthy that on election day, November 5, Pluto was at Capricorn 29°48′, only 3° from its radix position in the US chart. Pluto had already been in Aquarius twice, a sign in which it favors new sociocultural paradigms and where it will remain for about twenty years. Trump represented breaking with the old and was rewarded with a landslide victory, gaining total control of the executive and legislative branches. The judicial branch, and in particular the Supreme Court, had been “friendly” to Trump’s Republican Party ever since the Senate refused to confirm a nomination by Barack Obama in 2016 but confirmed three from Trump in his first term, resulting in the current 6 to 3 split in favor of the conservative justices.
An Aquarian Election
I said earlier that Pluto in Capricorn will initially empower existing structures. Whether it continues to do so depends on how such power was obtained and it is used. If a person or a group of people resorted to chicaneries, Pluto will let them be consumed by the consequences of their deceit. Incidentally, the same is true when Pluto transits through the tenth house of a chart, the house that represents a person’s relationship with society, normally his career, or the public standing of a country. If those have been obtained by less-than-honorable means, Pluto will make sure the individual (or country) reaps the results with tremendous force. Needless to say, what Trump has been doing in his second term is not serving his country but instead accumulating as much power as possible to wield it in vengeful ways and to enrich himself and his cronies.
Last Tuesday, for the second year in a row, US elections were held shortly after Pluto began to move in the forward direction. However, this time it all happened in Aquarius, the sign of truth. On October 14, Pluto changed direction at Aquarius 1°22′, less than 5° away from the radix Pluto in the US chart and still in an active conjunction with it. Recall that the Sabian symbol for that degree is “an unexpected thunderstorm” which is an accurate description of what transpired on November 4, mere hours before the full moon in Taurus. Briefly, although the polls had predicted victories by the Democratic Party in the Virginia and New Jersey governor races, the margins greatly surpassed such predictions. There were other wins for the democrats; notably, the Mayor-elect of New York City is now a 34 year-old Muslim-American, born in Uganda, who described himself as a democratic socialist.
Last Quarter Crises
Unfortunately, less than a week later, such gains were essentially wiped out when the Senate was able to pass a budget resolution without any of the demands made by the democrats regarding healthcare. The Senate voted on the same resolution that had failed earlier but this time eight democrats joined the republicans to provide the necessary 60% majority required to pass. It is worth noting that neither one of the eight will be up for reelection in 2026 so their constituents will be unable to show their displeasure at the voting booths. While this may be seen as a victory for Trump and the Republican party, the discontent has only grown bigger. However, the vote meant that the government would soon reopen.
On November 12, the day of the Last Quarter, when we face a crisis of consciousness trying to understand the full-moon revelations, a series of emails surfaced that implicate Trump directly in the sex-trafficking ring of Jeffrey Epstein; in one of them he is said to have spent “several hours” with an underage girl. On the same day, a congresswoman was sworn in by the Speaker Mike Johnson, who had delayed her admission as long as he could even though she had won a special election in late September. She represents a key vote in a complicated process that will likely result in the so-called “Epstein files” being released to the public. There was so much panic in the Trump administration that key republicans were “summoned” on the same day to the White House.
New Moon in Scorpio
About a week later, the new moon in Scorpio will occur on November 19 at 11:47 p.m. in California, and on November 20 at 12:47 a.m. in Mexico City or at 7:47 a.m. in Central Europe. It will bring very powerful energies because Sun and Moon, at Scorpio 28°12′, will be joined by Mercury at Scorpio 28°27′ in a cazimi that is only 0°15′ apart, as seen in the following chart:

Energies for Deep Reflections
Astrologers have recognized for centuries that planetary conjunctions with Sun have a special character. They talk of a “weakened” planet when it is under the beams, by which they mean located as far as 15° (half a sign!) from Sun’s position. A planet is also said to be “blinded”, and thus acting erratically, when it is in combustion, usually defined as closer than 8° to Sun. Finally, a planet “acts from the heart” when it is found in a cazimi, which is traditionally defined as within 0°17′ of an exact conjunction.2 By definition, Moon is always in cazimi at any new moon but it is unusual to find a double cazimi. Not only that, the triplet Sun–Moon–Mercury is in a tight opposition with Uranus (Taurus 29°30′) and together they form two Kite configurations with Uranus as pilot and the triplet as leader. In one of them, the sextile of Uranus and Neptune (Pisces 29°29′) will be exact in less than three hours. In the other, the trine of Jupiter (Cancer 25°02′) and Saturn (Pisces 25°13′) will be about as close to exact as it will get in 2025.
However, every planet in both Kites is moving retrograde, so their energy will be channeled to our subconscious and probably manifest as a need for conscious reflections. In a Kite, the dynamic is similar to a question posed by the leader to the pilot, which then uses the other two planets to provide an answer. In general, this involves the Taurus–Scorpio polarity discussed when talking about the full moon in Taurus in the previous article. At one level, the polarity pits wealth generation (Scorpio) against wealth accumulation (Taurus) and these may be issues that will arise during the lunar month. However, recall that Uranus in Taurus brings to the forefront issues related to instability in the homeland, which could be maximized by Jupiter in Cancer, the sign that seeks safety at home.
Sabian Symbols
For a more specific meaning than just the Taurus–Scorpio polarity, we should look at the Sabian symbol for the leader and the pilot of the Kites. The symbol for Scorpio 29, where Sun, Moon and Mercury will be found, was written as “An Indian squaw pleading to the chief for the lives of her children”, which was given the keynote: Love as a principle of redemption. Rudhyar interprets the mother in the symbol as the soul whose energies, the sons, have been disruptive to the order of the tribe. She thus seeks to counteract the karma of their deeds with her love by imploring for mercy to the unifying power, the chief, in an act of Intersession, its keyword. A key aspect of this symbol is the recognition that our actions may upset a sociocultural order.
But the Kites are piloted by Uranus which, from Taurus 30, is acting with the image “A peacock parading on an ancient lawn”, which was expanded by Rudhyar to the personal display of inherited gifts. Whereas the symbol may represent aloofness and pride, according to Diana Roche, it can also refer to an astute historical insight and the ability to learn from other people’s failures and successes. It is said that adepts are the flowering of their races and cultures and, indeed, a great person able to display many gifts is always a Consummation of a long past of efforts and victories by a line of biological or spiritual “ancestors”.
Taken together, and in the context of what has transpired recently, they may refer to a tension between proudly ignoring or humbly accepting the consequences of our deeds.
Transformative Relationship Changes?
Whereas most of the planetary energies are geared towards reflection, at Scorpio 16°44′, Venus will provide energy to transform our relationships and its trine with the North Node (Pisces 15°26′) will bring opportunities to do so. Furthermore, the square formed between the North Node and Mars (Sagittarius 11°24′) will give us more than enough energy to effect real changes based on the Sagittarian archetypes of honesty and justice.
Such work, to be done during the waxing phases, will reach its critical point at the First Quarter phase:

November 28, 2025 at 06:58:37 hours (GMT)
The preceding chart shows Venus (Scorpio 26°48′) becoming the leader of the Kites, namely, forming an opposition with Uranus (Taurus 29°10′) and being a member of two water Grand Trines with Jupiter (Cancer 24°42′): one with Saturn (Pisces 25°09′) and the other with Neptune (Pisces 29°25′). We have seen how Venus and Uranus combine to seek newness in our relationships and the opposition may bring awareness to what has grown stale in them. And the sextile of Neptune and Uranus, which continues to be exact from their anaretic degrees, will evoke sudden inspirations that may be helpful should we decide to make relationship changes.
Saturn is key to structure any desired changes, but at the First Quarter it will be barely inching forward at only 0.34% of its average speed, which is why it has the ‘S’ of “stationary” next to it. Something similar will apply to Mercury (Scorpio 20°55′), by then moving retrograde at only 22% of its average speed, which will change direction in less than 24 hours. The combination of Saturn and Mercury moving forward as of December 1 will allow us to dig deep and consolidate the changes. Also, although Moon is shown a bit too far from the North Node (Pisces 14°20′), their conjunction will happen later that evening and is likely to trigger actual events.
Discussion
Two of the most powerful archetypes of Scorpio are secrets and death, and it is highly probable that this lunation will have a good amount of both. It is said that we should live being aware that death is always walking by our side, for that makes us live to the fullest. However, what is important to Scorpio is the transformation that begins with death and ends in rebirth, so death is not seen as an ending. Moreover, we routinely experience the death of what has become obsolete for our evolutionary growth, from cells in our bodies to crystalized relationships. The upcoming lunation will encourage us to reflect on what has died or should die in our lives. This will be poignantly present in our minds around the First Quarter phase, when Venus in Scorpio helps us confront the shadows of our relationships.
As always, the energies of the new moon will be with us through the entire lunar month, and they include the powerful Mercury cazimi in Scorpio, a Mercury that will be reflecting from the heart on whether we have acted in accordance to what a new society asks from us (the Scorpio 29 symbol). Such reflections are needed to make sure we are aligned with the co-creating energies of the transpersonal planets. These energies are based on truth, which is why there can be no secrets at any level, neither personal nor mundane. This article is titled The End Begins because we will start to witness the death of what no longer works in order to effect a massive transformation which will culminate in the birth of a new order. It is up to each of us to make sure such order is not just new but better for humanity.
Wrapping Up…
With Mercury changing direction in Scorpio, there will be more digging for information about various misdeeds but expect more disinformation until mid-December when Neptune quits moving retrograde.
Our relationships will be once again in our mind as we are encouraged to reflect on whether they have become too routinary. The good news is that our mind and our heart will be working in unison throughout the entire lunation.
Let your heart guide you, for secrets may come to light as we learn to live within honesty and truth in all our endeavors.
Always Love. 🌹🙏💖
